  • Eligibility: First preference shall be given to Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) students in Middle Grades Education. If no qualified applicants are available, preference may be given to Master of Education (MEd) students. Preference for Applicants must be Georgia natives.

Fund Purpose

This fund provides scholarship support for students in the department of Educational Theory and Practice. Recipient(s) will be selected by a committee appointed by the Dean of the College of Education.

About the Donor

Dr. Kimothy Jarrett (‘83 MEd, Social Science Education) is a proud alumna of the College of Education with more than 45 years of experience in the field of education. Even in retirement, she continues to serve as a mentor teacher for MAT students at Georgia State, demonstrating her deep commitment to preparing future teachers. Her motivation in creating this scholarship is to support the next generation of educators, who will in turn have a lasting impact on children in classrooms across Georgia.
