The Paul Tappan Harwell Scholarship was established in 1983 to annually provide students majoring in elementary/early childhood education with scholarships. The average award amount for undergraduates is $750 with a minimum of $500. The average amount awarded to graduate students is $1,000 with a minimum of $500.At a Glance

Eligibility
- Awarded to undergraduate junior/senior students (who are scheduled to student teach in either the Fall or Spring of the upcoming academic year) and graduate students
- Majoring in elementary education and/or with an emphasis area in early childhood education
- Demonstrated financial need with a current FASFA on file in OSFA
- Demonstrated academic achievement, conceived broadly
How to Apply
- Completed application form, including signature and recommendations
- Personal statement (300-500 words about yourself, your academic/professional achievements, reasons for applying, and career plans)
- Resume/curriculum vitae
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty or instructor(s)
Applicants will be notified of committee decisions via email by June. Awarded scholarship funds are distributed to student accounts at the beginning of Fall semester.
