The Paul Tappan Harwell Scholarship was established in 1983. This scholarship is awarded each semester to an undergraduate and graduate student majoring or with an emphasis area in early childhood education.

Eligibility

Awarded to an undergraduate and graduate student majoring or with an emphasis area in early childhood education who are scheduled to student teach in either the fall or spring of the upcoming academic year. The award criterion is based equally on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement, conceived of broadly. The average award amount awarded to undergraduates is $750 with a minimum of $500. The average amount awarded to graduate students is $1,000 with a minimum of $500.

How to Apply

Submit all of the following materials to Linda Dunbar .

  • Signed application form
  • Personal statement (300-word max about yourself, your reasons for applying for a needs-based scholarship, your career plans)
  • Contact information for two (2) references (faculty members or instructors)
  • Resume/curriculum vitae

Submit completed FAFSA application directly to the Financial Aid office no later than the application deadline.
