Fund Purpose
This fund provides scholarships to deserving students enrolled in the University of Georgia Mary Frances Early College of Education.About the Donor
This fund was established by the estate of D. Rita Olsen Campbell in honor of her lifelong dedication to education and her love for the University of Georgia.
A proud first-generation college graduate, Rita earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from UGA at age 24 after working and attending night school to pursue her dream of a college education. She went on to teach elementary school for nearly 40 years, finding her greatest reward in the eager, trusting faces of her students. Following her retirement, she continued her commitment to learning and service by volunteering in hospitals and teaching English as a second language to children and adults. Rita’s deep appreciation for the opportunity UGA gave her inspired her desire to help future students pursue their own educational dreams.
