About the Donor

This fund was established in 2022 by Dr. Wanda Stitt-Gohdes and her husband, Dr. Bill Gohdes, both proud alumni and longtime supporters of the University of Georgia. Dr. Wanda Stitt-Gohdes is a retired faculty member of the College and holds the title of Professor Emeritus in the Department of Workforce Education and Instructional Technology. She earned her M.Ed. in Business Education in 1977 and her Ed.D. in Business Education in 1980, both from UGA. Her husband, Dr. Bill Gohdes, also pursued advanced study at UGA, earning his M.Ed. in Industrial Arts Education in 1993 and his Ed.D. in Occupational Studies in 2002. He went on to serve as Dean of Instruction at Georgia Piedmont Technical College.

My husband and I are both Double Dawgs. Earning graduate degrees from the now Mary Frances Early College of Education paved the way for long, successful career paths for us both. I incurred debt as a graduate student, taking nearly ten years to repay it. So we are extraordinarily grateful to provide help to graduate students in ways that will make their graduate experience a little easier. Our lives have been richly blessed by our UGA experiences, and we are fortunate to be able to help others."
